Right: Photo collage by Lady Mary Georgiana Filmer
As mentioned previously, I really enjoyed the show on Victorian Photo Collage at the AGO a few weeks past. This week’s FFWD centers around the curators of the upcoming Sled Island Music Festival. FFWD liked the idea of a Victorian curio museum and I saw the opportunity to incorporate some of the things I saw at the AGO show. Mostly I was interested in exploring the idea that photo collage allows for the curating of a social group. Even though the curators are responsible for choosing who will be in the show, they themselves were at some point hand picked as a kind of collection, ultimately creating the weird and wonderful reality that is the music festival. See the full cover in layout at the FFWD website.

Something in the Globe and Mail today on the subject of musicals.

I saw a show at the AGO recently that gave me the idea to try this out.

One of the many spots I did for Fast Forward Weekly out of Calgary. I was a regular contributor for three years from 2006 to 2009. The quick turnaround and creative freedom set the ground for some interesting output.
